Small Business VoIP

Small Business VoIP

VoIP technology at this present time is by no means a mature market, but is at such a point now where it is readily accessible and affordable for small business VoIP solutions to be implemented.

If you operate a small business there are now two main options that you should consider.

(1) Hosted VoIP solution – Where you will have either softphones or IP Phones located at your office on home.

(2) Locally hosted VoIP solution – An IP PBX main control unit is installed into your office or home, with telephone handsets or softphones.

Both solutions will deliver adequate (often more than adequate) telephone communications to your business, and both will be very similar in costs if you were to look at them over, say a period of 3 years. When you look at the costs of both of these VoIP solutions you will need to factor in the upfront charges, i..e. the hardware, installation, training and set up combined with the on-going costs which include the line rentals, call charges, VoIP seat rentals and any support charges.

You will find that more often than not, both of these small business VoIP solutions when compared this way will be similar in price and if this is the case then you will need to consider the flexibility and reliability offered to help make your decision as to which is the best to plump for.
