Fantastic video. Thanks for building this. I solely set up an ATA for home use and will try this with a spare PC. I be inflicted with been researching Asterisk and I will try Elastix. It looks like it has a lot of excellent features bundled collectively.
you can use an analogue card but its much more expensive. You will need to use an ATA adapter for the analogue phones. They expense about 1/2 with the intention of of the cheapest IP phones.

Does the pbx setup work with an analog card to connect to the pbx server, instead of the ISDN card, and be inflicted with an out to the analog buzz rather than to buy VoIP phones? I much rather go the analog route instead of using the ISDN card. Would it work?

I was using a isdn compatible card with the colgne chipset. Some of the cards which are used as isdn modems are ok for this. It was real cheap around USD25.
If you be inflicted with only a limited number of incoming lines and extensions a low powered PC will do.
I don’t know what magic jack is but you can simply use a sip compatible softphone or hardphone. If its for manifold incoming lines then place two or more ISDN cards in. Our server has 3 which gives us 6 lines in total.

I want to setup a home pbx logic for my small business. First, what is the card you are showing and how much does it expense? Can I use my ancient cpu to make it my pbx server? And, is there any eyeglasses with the intention of I must follow before installing the program you be inflicted with in your logic in to my cpu? Can I use magicjack as a cheap way to cut my monthly bill and connect manifold jacks to the cpu/pbx server I make?

Look, this is a project for my university, I install asterisk in a virtual apparatus with VMWare, in a computer, but it didn’t work there , so I pretend the total virtual apparatus to another computer, and it didn’t work neither. Hey st0ngbacker, No I don’t know everywhere you can find a tutorial about with the intention of siphon and the iphone but if it works like any additional sip client there are tons out there. Is it similar to a sip client or is it a bit more complicated?

I reflect toktumi shouldve made a deal with another companionship and place this out on their own buzz. the iphone is a cool device, but as a buzz it rank of sucks, especially the battery life. its excellent to see theyre building improvements though. hopefully apple doesnt cancel this like they did the google voice app.
